The Accelerated Option

Accelerated Options are available on all courses and allow for faster completion of the course by scheduling 2 one hour lessons per week. The option is dependent upon availability and can be discussed at the time of booking.

Why choose the Accelerated Option?

How do I Choose the Right Course?

You will be advised on the suggested length of intervention needed following the DPS. You can then choose how to structure that for your learner and your budget.

You may wish to book a short course, such as 12 Strides, or an accelerated option to complete some of the suggested target areas and book a progression course to complete the rest of the programme. Alternatively, you may book a standard course length, such as 20 Strides and find the learner's response is such that it is worth booking an additional progression short course to develop their higher order literacy skills.

Many teachers report seeing enormous improvement in those who have completed a DALP Course. Not only in specific literacy skills but attitude to learning in general, self-confidence and self-efficacy in the classroom.

Diagnostic Placement Screening (DPS)

All courses require a Diagnostic Placement Screening (DPS) comprising:

The cost of the DPS is £250 per learner, or £300 for Accelerated courses.

On completion of the necessary agreement, an individualised programme will be designed for the learner and delivery of the course will begin within 2–3 weeks following the initial meeting.

Please note: if the time between the DPS and the commencement of the course exceeds 2 months, the DPS will need to be repeated.

Who Would Benefit from the DALP Programme?

In deciding if a learner is right for the course, you only need ask: is their literacy level significantly lower than age-related levels AND have they not responded positively, or quickly, to one-to-one or small group intervention already? They do not need to have or be suspected of having dyslexia to benefit from alternative multi-sensory learning.

Note: A learner with high absenteeism who has missed quality first teaching may respond well to 'catch-up' individual intervention but would not require DALP unless also showing signs of difficulty or inconsistent grasp of literacy skills.
